What’s so special about our gas seal PTFE tape?
Gas seal PTFE tape is manufactured to the highest density of any PTFE thread sealing tape on the market.
Ordinary PTFE tapes are stretched during the manufacturing process as a cost cutting measure, Stretching reduces the density of a tape by increasing its porosity It’s not unusual to find PTFE tape stretched 600% or more with a void volume greater than 80%.
Gas can escape through these pores creating potentially hazardous and costly leaks.

Maximum density gas seal PTFE tape has significant advantages:

- Fewer wraps required by our Gas Seal PTFE tape. It is thicker than ordinary thread sealing tapes for even greater sealing efficiency and its yellow color coding makes it easy to identify.
